July, 2000 MAPCE Campout at the Shenandoah Valley KOA in Verona, Virginia

The second Mid Atlantic Popup Camper Enthusiasts 2000 Campout was held at the Shenandoah Valley KOA in Verona, Virginia. Eight families enjoyed a pleasant weekend of fishing, tubing and camping along the Middle River in Verona, near Staunton.

Our group camped in the sites right next to Middle River.

Some of our group enjoy a hayride through the campground.

Dave (PopUP Times) Newhouse and daughter Shelly enjoy a lazy tube ride down the river. The KOA provides the tubes for free (refundable deposit required).

These tubers weren't with our group, but we got a kick out of the Lab that was afraid of the water, and had to ride in his owner's lap!

The MAPCE group enjoys a pot luck dinner on Saturday night.

We put up a rain fly Saturday night when rain threatened.

Shirley and Lynn watch the rain fly go up.

Saturday night we enjoyed the live band Southbound at the pavilion.

Bunnies were everywhere. Scott and his friend Andrew watch a couple of rabbits by the pool.

Here's our group on Sunday morning!
