August, 2000 Trip to Beachcomber Camping Resort

We returned to Beachcomber Camping Resort in August, 2000 for a few more days of camping, beach, and amusement park fun.

On the way down, we camped just outside of Philadelpha and visited the Franklin Institute. Here, Scott is a "cold molecule" during the liquid nitrogen demonstration.

      Reading and playing at bedtime.

Keith catches a mouthfull of water at the New Jersey State Aquarium in Candem.

Scott gets it right in the face.

      Petting sharks.

      More petting sharks.

Riding the waterslide at Morey's Piers Amusement Park.

Riding the boardwalk trolley at night.

We took a whale watch cruise out of Cape May. Here, a laughing gull begs for food. We did not see any whales, but the dolphins were plentiful.

      Scott feeds the laughing gull.

      Nighttime on Wildwood's beach.

Fireworks on the beach at Wildwood.

      Morey's Piers at night.

      Wildwood's boardwalk at night.

We rode our bikes to the Cape May/Wildwood Airport for a small but enjoyable air show. Here, Scott and I pose next to a Coast Guard Aerospatiale "Dauphin" rescue helicopter.

Scott and Keith strap in for their first helicopter ride, ever. The open cabin trip was very exciting for them.

      Taking off...

15 minutes later, final approach for landing...

Scott seems in awe as he looks up at the main rotor.
